Google Space is the zero-gravity cousin of Google Gravity: instead of everything crashing to the floor, the page’s pieces drift weightlessly, bouncing softly off the walls like the inside of a space station. What the original trick did

The classic “Google Space” was a Mr.doob-style physics demo of the Google homepage where the logo, buttons and search bar floated in zero-G. It spread through the same channels as Google Gravity (“I’m Feeling Lucky” experiments and mirror sites), and searches for it have never stopped. Google itself never built it into search — it has always lived on independent pages like this one.

The physics, in one paragraph

Zero-G on a screen is simple: give every element a velocity, remove gravity’s downward pull, and make collisions with the container edges nearly elastic (each bounce keeps ~90% of speed). That tiny energy loss is what makes the drift feel calm instead of chaotic — real orbital physics dressed in CSS transforms.
