Typed your router’s IP and got a blank page or “site can’t be reached”? A router admin page that won’t load almost always comes down to one of a handful of causes. Work through these in order — most people are fixed by the first three.
Fix it in order
- You searched instead of typing the address. The IP must go in the browser’s address bar, not Google. Type http://192.168.1.1 directly.
- Wrong IP for your router. The three most common are 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1 and 10.0.0.1. Try each — or find the right one below.
- You’re not connected to that router. A private IP is only reachable from its own network. On mobile data, or another WiFi, it won’t load. Connect to the router first.
- Browser cache or HTTPS. The router page is usually http, not https. Try an incognito window, or type http:// explicitly so the browser doesn’t force https.
- VPN or proxy is on. A VPN routes you away from the local network. Turn it off and reload.
- Router glitch. Power-cycle it: unplug 30 seconds, plug back in, wait for lights, try again.
How to find your router’s exact IP
On Windows: open Command Prompt, type ipconfig, and look at “Default Gateway” — that number is your router’s address. On Mac: System Settings > Network > Details > TCP/IP, read the “Router” field. On Android/iPhone: WiFi settings > tap your network > look for Gateway or Router. Whatever it shows is the IP to type.
Still nothing?
If the correct IP still won’t open even while connected, the router may need a factory reset (paperclip in the reset hole, ~10 seconds), which restores the default settings and the sticker login. How do I find my router's IP address?

Does a VPN stop me reaching my router?
Yes — a VPN routes traffic away from your local network, so the router’s private IP won’t load. Turn the VPN off and try again.
